Who we are
TimecardCheck (“we”, “us”) runs the website timecardcheck.com, including the time card calculator and My Timecard. We are based in California, USA. You can reach us at hello@timecardcheck.com.
Information that stays on your device
The hours, breaks, pay period, state, hourly rate, name, company and employee ID you enter are saved in your browser’s storage on your device. They are not sent to our servers. PDF timecards and CSV files are created on your device. If you clear your browser data, this information is deleted, and we cannot recover it.
When you use “Copy view link”, the times for that pay period are written into the link itself. Anyone you give the link to can see those times. We do not store the link.
Information we collect
- Feedback you send. When you use the feedback form we receive your message, the type of feedback, whether you are a worker or an employer, your email address if you give it, and basic context: the page you came from, your selected state and pay period, the app version and your browser type. If you choose to attach your entries, we also receive those times. We use this only to reply to you and to fix and improve TimecardCheck.
- Anonymous usage counts. We count how many times a day certain buttons are used, such as Clock in, Share PDF, Copy view link and CSV. Each count is an event name and a date. It contains no name, email, hours, IP address or device identifier.
- Website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see page views in total. It does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and browser details when you load a page so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. We do not use this to identify you.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your entries are saved with browser storage on your device, as described above.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these service providers only to run the site:
- Cloudflare, Inc. for hosting, security, email forwarding and analytics.
- Resend, Inc. to deliver feedback messages to our inbox.
- Google LLC (Gmail), where our inbox is hosted.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
How long we keep it
We keep feedback emails for as long as we need them to respond and to improve the service, and no longer than 24 months. Anonymous usage counts are kept for up to 13 months.
Your choices and rights
- You can see, change, export or delete everything saved on your device in My Timecard, under Settings.
- You can ask us to see or delete feedback you sent by writing to hello@timecardcheck.com. We will reply within 30 days.
- California residents may have additional rights under state law. Contact us at the address above to use them. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across websites, so we treat every visitor the same whether or not the browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Children
TimecardCheck is meant for working adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure. Because your entries live on your device, keep your device locked and export a backup if the data matters to you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will also note it on the home page for at least 30 days.
